PowerXL DA1 advanced variable frequency drives

The DA1 is the ideal drive for demanding applications that are speed- and torque-dependent. Eaton’s PowerXLTM product family delivers outstanding performance regarding motor control and modularity. Thanks to the enhanced performance range (up to 160 kW) and the option of a higher degree of protection (IP66), the DA1 can be used across a wide range of applications. With the integrated EMC filter, braking chopper and the Modbus RTU and CANopen protocols on board, the DA1 is ready for use straight out of the box for a variety of applications. Customer-specific adjustments are made possible by the integrated function block editor, which allows for maximum flexibility.

Flexible use in demanding applications.

The standard version of the DA1 drive is equipped for virtually any application. The devices stand out for their high starting torque in the powerful vector mode, and for their safe operating states with STO functionality. The devices can be used in cranes, in installations that are regularly exposed to dust or contamination, and even in marine applications.

DA1 Drives with IP66 Protection

The DA1 drives are not only available in IP20 protection class, but also in IP66 protection class for applications up to 22 kW. The outdoor rated IP66 devices can withstand UV rays, wet, dusty, or dirty conditions. They have a waterproof ABS case and a corrosion-resistant heat sink, making them ideal for the food industry, agriculture, or car wash systems. They also have optional local control elements, such as a potentiometer, a selector switch, and a main switch, that enable the on-site configuration of the DA1 drives.

Fieldbus communication is key

The DA1 integrates seamlessly into existing automation solutions and also enables new, innovative machine and system concepts based on Industry 4.0.

  • Can be connected to different network protocols such as PROFINET, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP and BACnet/IP using plugable option modules.
  • Has a dual-port interface that allows you to create a line structure without additional switches.
  • Enables you to access, diagnose and maintain your equipment remotely via Ethernet based networks, saving you time and resources.
  • Has an integrated Modbus RTU and CANopen interface on-board, which lets you connect to these cost effective network options.
  • Offers you flexibility and efficiency in designing and operating your automation solutions. 

Variable frequency drives for all motors up to IE5.

The PowerXL DA1 drive can be used to control motors up to the highest efficiency class IE5. This includes standard induction motors, three-phase asynchronous motors, permanent magnet motors, brushless DC motors and synchronous reluctance motors.

PLC functionality with drivesConnect.

The drivesConnect configuration tool allows you to program and simulate the PLC functions of the DA1 drive using a function block editor. You can create logic connections, such as time-based ones, with the PLC features. The simulation mode helps you fix any errors in the function blocks. This way, you can customize the drives for any application and save money on extra hardware.

These accessories include line reactors, load reactors, sine filters, and braking resistors.
