Ingress Protection (IP) ratings define how effective a product is at preventing foreign objects from intruding during use. The “6” in IP69K refers to external protection from solid particles and signifies that a product is completely dust tight. The “9” refers to protection from liquids and close range high pressure spray downs. The “K” applies to the high temperature of the water used. The combination results in an excellent solution for heavy industrial applications and heavy washdown environments making our Arrow Hart’s pin and sleeve devices perfect for food and beverage applications.
To obtain an IP69K protection rating - a strong water jet is directed at the device from 4 directions and to achieve the rating it must not have any harmful effects. The test time is 2 minutes.
