Join the experts at Eaton for a free webinar on how electrical codes and standards have driven an evolution in electrical safety solutions. New pre-integrated, pre-tested solutions enable electrical system designers to shrink the overall system footprint without compromising on electrical safety. Arc flash reduction can be achieved in many different ways, but not all are cost saving or space saving, and many of these solutions still leave certain zones unprotected. With safer equipment, system designers can move the transformer secondary closer to or within buildings, offering significant advantages.

Presenter: Sam T Reed, Lead application engineer, Transformers

Sam T. Reed graduated from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 2016 with a BSME and BS Physics. He conducted post-graduate work in Electromagnetic Design with SpaceX in 2015 developing vortex magnetics used for dynamic induction in high-speed transportation systems. He then moved to a career in power systems engineering with Eaton in 2017 serving as the Lead Application Engineer for the liquid-filled transformer group. Since joining the Eaton team, Sam has played a key role in developing new transformer technologies including advanced protection schemes, online monitoring systems and multi-function system automation packages. Additionally, Sam is an active member of the IEEE Society and frequently assists in development and honing of industry standards and practices with emerging technologies.
