We make the connected home work*
What is Matter: Matter is an open-source global standard, that aims to simplify the smart home ecosystem. It achieves this by facilitating secure communication between internet-connected devices from different manufacturers. The central goal of Matter is to serve as an interoperability protocol, utilizing standardized data models. These models ensure that smart home devices can seamlessly function across various ecosystems. In practical terms, this means you’ll be able to connect and control your smart home devices within different ecosystems, regardless of their brand.
According to the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), the group overseeing the standard, more than 1,200 hardware and software products from more than 300 companies have received Matter certification or are in the process of being verified since its launch in 2023. Eaton will be aligned with Matter in the future.
Why it is important: In the future, you will be able to connect and control your smart home devices from different brands, including Eaton. Integrating smart technology into your home enhances safety and security and offers convenience, energy efficiency, and personalized experiences. As technology advances, smart homes are poised to become even more widespread in the years ahead. Matter-enabled devices offer straightforward setup and intuitive control while integrating advanced security technologies to ensure the protection of your devices.
