What is Matter: Matter is an open-source global standard, that aims to simplify the smart home ecosystem. It achieves this by facilitating secure communication between internet-connected devices from different manufacturers. According to the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), the group overseeing the standard, more than 1,200 hardware and software products from more than 300 companies have received Matter certification or are in the process of being verified since its launch in 2023. Eaton will be aligned with Matter in the future.
