Arc flash safety

Protect what matters most. If you haven't taken the proper steps to mitigate the risks of arc flash, you're compromising worker safety, and you could be breaking the law. Use the resources here to reset arc flash safety in your facility.

An arc flash occurs “when an electric current passes through air between ungrounded conductors or between ungrounded conductors and
grounded conductors."

National Fire Protection Association, NFPA

The dangers of arc flash

Temperatures can reach 35,000°F – more than three times hotter than the sun! These excessive temperatures cause the air and metal in the path of the arc to expand and explode, creating an arc blast.

Arc flash safety begins with a study

The first step in your arc flash safety journey is a study to estimate incident energy and recommend actions, including labeling, proper personal protective equipment (PPE), training and mitigation solutions.

Are you in compliance with OSHA's OSH Act?

If you've missed the deadline, you could be putting your employees at risk and breaking the law.
