White paper informs about the new ErP regulation
With the extensions of (EC) 640/2009 for the environmentally friendly design of electric motors, the use of IE3 and IE4 motors becomes concrete in certain areas of application: In two steps - by July 1, 2021 and July 1, 2023. In addition, the scope of the regulation was expanded. Our new white paper explains how these requirements can be easily adapted and how this can be used to successfully increase the energy efficiency of the drive system.

All in all, the combination of IE4 motors with DG1 drives has enabled us to reduce the water utility’s energy costs by about 15 percent. At an average of 5,000 operating hours per year for each drive, this translates into major savings.
Water plant pumping station saves 15% energy
When a pump station in the south of Germany needed to reduce its total cost of ownership (TCO), Eaton's partner Aquatech decided to install energy efficient IE4 motors and PowerXL DG1 variable speed drives. This not only reduced energy consumption by 15%, but also freed space and saved maintenance costs.
