Supercapacitor cylindrical cells are energy storage devices and often referred to as "ultracapacitor cells" or "EDLC cells" (Electric Double-Layer Capacitor cells). Small supercapacitor cells and packs have a smaller footprint typically have capacitance values starting in the micro-Farads (F). These devices are capable of storing moderate amounts of energy and can deliver high power outputs. Supercapacitor packs integrate 2 individual cells with passive voltage management to reduce part count and simplify designs. Common applications for supercapacitor cylindrical cells include consumer electronics, renewable energy, industrial manufacturing, grid energy storage and automotive, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
