Sounder visual alarm device for conventional fire systems

The sounder VAD (visual alarm device) for conventional fire alarm systems is a red, durable sounder beacon that is certified to EN54-23 and ensures reliability and energy efficiency.

Its design centres around low current consumption with a patented optics lens, switchable coverage volume, soft startup with a reduced current peak and circuit loading and optional 0.5Hz or 1Hz settings all intended to minimise power wastage.

Its high sound output makes it suitable for open areas such as warehouses or factories. As standard, UK alarm tones are included alongside an “E” version that incorporates the German DIN tone and the Netherlands Slow Whoop. Options are also available for weatherproof IP66 versions of both the base-only and full unit.

Low current, maximum coverage with Eaton's patented lens

The patented long life LED lens optics used in Eaton's conventional visual alarm devices have been developed specifically for the VAD EN54-23 standard.

It uses modern 'thick-mould' injection moulding techniques and innovative cylindrical output to achieve the correct level of illumination while keeping power consumption as low as possible.

Projects change, your visual alarm device doesn't need to just turn it up or down

Boasting an impressive performance with up to 7.5m coverage volume. The conventional sounder visual alarm device's high sound output makes it suitable for open areas, or where there is background noise higher than normal or areas where there is a need to wear ear defenders, such as factories or warehouses. For smaller areas, the device can also be switch down to a volume coverage of 2.5m, also making it ideal for bedrooms, bathrooms and toilets.

Clear visual notification during an emergency; approved to EN54-23

VADs provide a clear signal of evacuation for any occupant that may not be alerted by an audible alarm due to working in a noisy environment like a factory, if they are hard of hearing or increasingly in office and educational environments due to wearing headphones.
